The most important reason is to have a complete organised digital back-up of your photos. It would be heartbreaking if your precious memories were lost, stolen, or destroyed in a fire or a flood. If the worst happened, once your photos are digitised you can easily make sure you’ll never lose them by having different types of backups – even stored at different locations – to CD/DVD, USB, hard drive and in the Cloud.

Once digitised you can easily share them with family and friends anywhere in the world, preserve for passing on to future generations, create coffee table photo books, upload to social media, and save on storage space currently used by your albums.  You can even encourage others to easily add their photos to your shared albums, have them ‘like’ or comment on the album social media-style.

When you are out with friends or away from home you can quickly bring up relevant photos in conversation or as reference to topics.

If you sort your photos into separately marked bags or envelopes, we will return your digital photos on your chosen media in an organised format so you can easily find a photo by date, location, event, or person within seconds.  Just like decluttering a disorganised wardrobe, you will feel joy and happiness!

We can restore almost any photo. We can repair imperfections such as mould, scratches, folds, tears, and creases.

However, we will not be able to repair your photo if it is severely damaged to the point of completely missing or unrecognisable faces or sections, or if your photo is blurred, extremely dark or over exposed.

We can scan the photo album pages on a flatbed scanner eliminating the need to remove the photos from the album.

No – your digital images will not disintegrate, lose clarity or vibrancy.

We will discuss with you the level of restoration needed – Simple, Moderate or Severe and quote you prior to any work commencing.

Negatives are the original camera image; printed photo quality may vary over time or the quality of the lab that processed it. We can get a sometimes significantly better scan from a well-kept negative rather than from a scanned photo, however these take much longer to do, therefore incur more cost.

Think about the photos you most care about and we will look at the possibilities for you.

Our scanners can scan any size picture or document up to A4 (210 x 297mm) or Letter (216 x 279mm).  If your photo or document is larger, we will scan in sections and piece together.

We will scan anything from one photo up to 10,000’s of photos!  But please note our minimum order charge will be A$20.

We will treat your photos, negatives and slides with extreme care, they will be gently cleaned with a microfiber cloth to remove dust, fingerprints, mould etc.

Your originals will be returned to you in the same condition as we received them.  However, if you truly want to go photo album free, we can dispose of them for you and just return the digital versions. We will not dispose of your photos and albums until you are happy with the digital versions.

Yes! Just sort your photos into bundles, enclose in a zip lock bag or envelope and label each. We will use that label to file the digital images into ‘albums’ on storage.

Normally we bulk scan at 600 DPI but depending on what you want to do with the scan you might want a different resolution.  We can scan at 300, 600 or 1200 DPI – its your choice!  Just remember the file sizes can be huge at the higher resolutions. 300 DPI scans are usually less than 1 Mb, 600DPI generally 3-6Mb. A 1200DPI can be 10+Mb in size and take several minutes each to process.  If you need many 1200DPI scans there will be an additional charge.

We can save scans to USB flash drive, CD/DVD or external storage drive or similar cloud-based storage – it’s your choice.  We can purchase a USB or storage drive for you, or you can provide your own.

Yes, we can scan full strips and part strips.

No, you are only charged for the work we do. If we cannot restore your photo we will discuss with you prior to any work commencing and  you will not be charged.

We are located in Collaroy on the Northern Beaches of Sydney NSW. You can drop off to us or use Australia Post courier service. For an additional cost, we can arrange to pick up in the Sydney Metro area.

No upfront payment is required. Once the order is complete we will invoice details of the work done and the cost. If you would like some of the work in advance you can pay as you go. Payment can be made through bank transfer or cash – no credit/debit cards accepted. Once we receive your payment in our account, we will return the media to you.

Are they damaged, do they have mould on them?  If yes, we will look at each tape separately to see if there is anyway we can do to preserve. This may include manually cleaning the tape/films. However once mould has set in it is difficult to do anything to improve the picture quality and the tapes may break due to the damage.
